Exciting Monk Class Update – I Need Your Input!

Hey, fellow adventurers!

I’ve just made some exciting changes to the Monk class in Cresthaven RPG, and I’m really looking forward to hearing what you think! The Monk has always been a unique blend of spiritual discipline and martial prowess, and I’ve worked hard to refine their abilities to better reflect their commitment to their Oath of Self-Improvement, Seclusion, and Austerity.

What’s New with the Monk Class?

Here’s a quick rundown of the updates:

• Powers and Progression Overhaul: The Monk’s abilities now grow as they level up, making each milestone on their journey more rewarding and impactful.
• Simplified Oath: I’ve streamlined the Oath to focus more on the Monk’s personal journey. It’s all about self-improvement and spiritual growth, with less emphasis on complex rituals.
• Monk Austerity: The Monk’s lifestyle has been refined to reflect their minimalist approach. They now do more with less, requiring large donations to their monastery, emphasizing their commitment to a life of simplicity.
• Breaking the Rules: As Monks ascend, they begin to transcend their human limitations. These new abilities reflect their evolution into something more than human, pushing the boundaries of what they can achieve.

These changes are designed to make the Monk even more versatile and aligned with their spiritual journey, while not making them too OP.

Inspired by Legendary Ronin

When reimagining the Monk class, I found a lot of inspiration in iconic figures like David Carradine’s character in Kung Fu. The idea of a wandering monk, following a strict personal code while navigating a world filled with challenges, really resonated with me. This update pays homage to those legendary ronin who seek enlightenment through discipline and strength.
